Can i first send my deepest sympathy to all the family, i would often think of where john was when i used to go to Anfield to watch Liverpool,i first met John in 1967 when i used to stay in my aunties house in Towson street john lived in Hartnup street, i became pally with john when he came into towson street to see a couple of friends, he always had a beaming smile and a laugh that always lit up his face, we used to go to stanley park with a few other lads and have a game of footy, i always wanted to be on johns brother Billys side because he was a big lad ( i think billy was a flagger) i remember his sister pat worked in a hairdressers shop the top of towson street, i never had any jewellry but john had a signet ring and he lent it to me for a week i lived in crocky and went to school 13 or 14 year old with the ring john had lent me, i gave it back when i went back to my aunties a week later, john left school and if memory is right his Dad got him a job with the water board,we drifted away from each other him being in anfield and me living in croxteth i eventually got married and moved to Kirkdale when i bumped into his brother Billy he was working on some new houses being built if billy remembers he came in and had a cup of tea and i asked him all about John and what he was up to many years gave passed but i still used to say to people who lived around that area, my mate john Hunter lived round there do you know him.lots of memorys will stay with me thinking of John but they will be all happy ones.
